Matthew B. Crisp, BOARD CHAIR &DIRECTOR
Matt is a lifelong learner who started his career in venture capital, where he grew into a partner role and worked directly with and within emerging companies across biotechnology and other technology-driven fields. His exposure to the broad workings of numerous companies has shaped a strong generalist perspective, which is particularly valuable in his current role. Matt has developed a passion for how different types of innovation can deliver unique and significant value creation opportunities and impact, particularly in food and agriculture. He most enjoys empowering his colleagues, partners and stakeholders to help realize the vision of a healthier, more sustainable and more accessible food system. Matt holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Radford University.
Tom Marsh, DIRECTOR
Tom Marsh is a 40+ year veteran of the latex and rubber industry, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the company. His extensive career spans various laboratory, R&D, and manufacturing positions within the medical device and sundry goods segments, including roles at Centrotrade Rubber USA, Abbott Laboratories and Ansell Healthcare. Marsh's deep involvement in the rubber supply chain also includes senior executive roles at The Ore & Chemical Corporation and Corrie MacColl Limited, a subsidiary of Halcyon Agri, where he was responsible for sales, distribution, processing, production, and technical services for key industrial materials such as natural rubber. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer at Pioneer Worldwide and Chief Technology Officer for Advanced Sustainable Polymers. Additionally, Marsh formerly served as Chairman of the Board of ASTM International, and as Chair of its Technical Advisory Group to ISO TC45 International Committee on Rubber, further demonstrating his leadership and commitment to the industry. Marsh holds degrees in General Science and Business Management from The Ohio State University and Liberty University, respectively, and has completed additional work in polymer technology and process development.
Matt Helms, DIRECTOR
As Senior Director at BioGenerator Ventures, Matt focuses on investing and developing companies in the Ag Tech and Food sectors. Matt brings experience developing and running commercial businesses across the US and globally. Prior to joining the BioGenerator, Matt was the Chief Commercial Officer at NewLeaf Symbiotics leading the transition from an R&D focused organization into its commercialization. Prior to that, Matt worked 18 years at Monsanto Company in a range of leadership roles including the Vice President of Global Agriculture Productivity focusing on investment and development of R&D resources as well as the Global Crop Protection Marketing Lead.Matt has a BS degree in Agriculture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.
